The Author
Stephen J. Roman Sr., the author of 90 First Dates is 58 years old. For 35 years Mr. Roman has been a “Political Consultant,” at many different levels from Gubernatorial campaigns to running campaigns for local elected officials. He has developed a reputation as an excellent speech writer as a person with a deep insight into issues that affect local, county, and state residents.
Mr. Roman has been active in his community, his church and in local political organizations. He has been a public speaker and spoken widely on topics such as the “More Mediocre Management System in American Industry.”
Mr. Roman was involved in many programs with his children as a coach of various sports including soccer, baseball and basketball. He was a Member of the Board of Morris Catholic High School and also an appointed member of the Union County Freeholder Board in Union County, New Jersey. When on that board he was most active in the “Welfare to Work Programs,” helping people to get off the welfare rolls and onto payrolls of local firms looking to build a cadre of good, local employees.
Mr. Roman was President and CEO of a large New Jersey-based manufacturing firm, and proudly saw that firm grow from two employees to over 150 people during his tenure as its Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Roman is most proud of his family, and their efforts to educate themselves to grow in their own lives as well as them taking an active role in their family, their church and their communities. It was at a gathering at his home with friends of his sons, that Mr. Roman developed the idea for the book “90 First Dates.” His personal observations served as the foundation for the project of developing this book. He had the idea in mind that he might help reduce the wall that has been developing between men and women.
